So after a bit of research, like the Lazer you gotta buy the companies cart to be one design eligible right? Is there a developmental class? Carbon frame and wing sail?

Charter Karts: Contact Bob Casey or Fran Gramkowski..... they will point you in the right directions:

Bob: blokartsnnv@aol.com
Fran: President@nabsa.com

One Design: There are two classes, production (out of the box standard kart) and performance (carbon masts and all the go fast kit)

The analogy of the laser is close, 98% of your gear must be blokart manufactured, some small tuning is allowed. Its probably closer to a 49er in concept as blokart international do update and develop the performance options, a production kart will be competitive with out upgrades (just maintenance) for 8 to 10 years, a Performance maybe only 4 to 6 years.
