There is a gallery of Benicia Yacht Club race last Thursday night, April 16th. It is on SkyDrive, LINK.BenicaYC.Race (http://cid-16fa8d944f627867.photos.live.com/browse.aspx/2011%5E_BeniciaYC%5E_Apr-14).

The tide was low and the ebb continued in the middle of the Carquinez Straits. The weather was nice with a moderate wind, turning cloudy. It was really cold by the last beat.

A couple of pictures follow.

Videos of the race turned out ~OK+. However, the videos were shot at the camera default high definition(1920x1024x60 frames per second). I learned that 200 to 400 MB videos are a challenge email to friends (or post online).

The videos show the ebb tide in the middle of Carquinez Straits pushing boats upwind against the far shoreline.

Wow, two Olson 30's, a SC27, J/29, Warwhoop. I should have left the boat up there for the season.

Benicia is a nice place to sail. The distance from the harbor to the starting line is easy on Thursday nights.
