Prototype Mini 574 for sale

Simon Rogers design, built in 2006 at Sydney Yachts, Australia. Same design as Jonathan McKee’s 247. Hull pre-preg carbon/ nomex, beautiful finish. Canting keel that also slides fore-aft 800mm, single canting/ raising daggerboard (new by Phil’s Foils, 2010). Southern Spars carbon mast, re-rigged with Blew Stoub PBO standing rigging in 2011.


Complete refit of deck hardware (Ronstan) in 2010. Up to date high-tech running rigging (fully sponsored by Samson Ropes). New bottom job Spring, 2011. Road-legal trailer, adjustable cradle height to acomodate boat with or without keel.

I hear , 20 ft boats don't go upwind very well.... shrug ...

Minis don't go upwind as well as the 35-40 footers they rate even with, in a PHRF race. Somebody needs to buy this one (when Emma is ready) and others buy a couple more so they can start racing against each other. They're close to critical mass locally - just need to get them in one place (race) at one time. When that finally happens it will be very cool.

What is the current count of Mini's on the West Coast?

Maybe the fleet should engage in some productive note matching and create a series all can attend?
