Bellingham to Eagle Harbor on Cypress Island.



After a late night with friends in Bellingham we woke to fog, but this time only in our heads... The winds piped up again out of the south and we had a great sail out of Bellingham bay, passing two tall ships on the way out that looked to be heading into the harbor for provisions and a M26 motoring in behind them. ...

The morning dawned cold with fog rolling in from the Straits of Juan De Fuca, but fortunately Clark Island is situated to leeward of the mountains on Orcas Island and they’ve held back the fog for us! Time to set sail.

July 18th dawned to wind and sunny, well mostly sunny, skies. As we sailed away from Sucia Island heading south towards Clarke Island we where treated with this great view of Sucia Island and can easily tell why they call them the Finger Islands that create all the bay’s at Sucia.
