    2018 CYC Mid Winters February
The February edition of the Corinthian YC’s Party Circuit Regatta came in like a rabbit and marched out like a Rhino. A stampeding herd of Rhinos.

Saturday’s warm sunshine and building westerly ushered out what had been a near 2-week sabbatical from winter for Northern California residents. Temps in the 70’s during the day with cool crisp nights had many swapping out their coats and dungarees for shorts and tee shirts.

    Saturdays ...

The 2018 SSS 3 Bridge Fiasco lived up to it's name, with a number of adjectives that can be tossed for good measure,
such as chaos, anchoring, ripping ebb, light air and determination.

For many, and impromptu voyage out the Gate when the currents overwhelmed hull speed after rounding Blackaller and attempting to cross the river.

For others, it was a day of setting the hook and waiting. Either for stronger wind of less current. Or both.

But the one thing this edition will be remembered for is the extremely small percentage of finishers, just 4 boats out of the 359 boats registered managed to getaround the course before the 7:00 PM witching hour bell struck.
