ALAMEDA — The Alameda Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire at a Grand Street marina that damaged three boats and killed a dog on Saturday.
Firefighters were called to respond to the blaze at Grand Marina at 2099 Grand St. just before 11:30 a.m. and found a docked, approximately 35-foot motorized boat in flames.
The boat was destroyed and a dog aboard it died. The fire also caused minor damage to two neighboring boats at the dock.
The fire department said it was able to extinguish the fire quickly using multiple hose lines and a fire boat.
The cause was still under investigation Saturday night.
