• Brest Atlantiques Training In Session

Spotted off in the bay of quiberon, our trio Brest Atlantiques in full training... we'll have to be at the top level because the plateau of the race is exceptional.

Brest Atlantiques, whose start will be given on November 3, is an Atlantic tour initiated and reserved for competitors of the Ultimate class. Four boats will start this new race in doubles with an exceptional first course that brings together stars of the French offshore race.

On board Sodebo Ultim '3, Thomas Coville and Jean-Luc Nélias will face on the water:

The trimaran Macif, skippered by François Gabart and Gwenolet Gahinet
The Maxi Edmond de Rothschild skippered by Franck Cammas and Charles Caudrelier
Actual Leader skippered by Yves Le Blevec and Alex Pella
According to the skipper of Sodebo Ultim 3, everyone should have a chance: " 30 days of nonstop navigation in race mode, it will be a first for all boats involved. Two of our competitors are ahead of us. Maxi Edmond de Rothschild and Macif have already sunbathed. They master mechanically their respective platform that they have been reliable for several years. They have today a potential and an experience superior to us. Actual Leader, as for him is a boat that I know very well, with a lot of trumps, the added value will come from Yves and Alex who cumulate a big experiment offshore. "

Remember that the innovative trimaran Thomas Coville, was launched just seven months ago. The drifting plan that will allow it to fly completely will be installed in early 2020 when the giant will be made more reliable in its current configuration. As the skipper likes to explain, " In the development of a prototype like this, the combinatorial complexity is permanent. It seemed very ambitious to have a boat flying from the launch. One of our challenges on Sodebo Ultim 3 will be to complete a race of this level with a new boat! "
