    CANCELLATION OF RESIA EVENT

Unfortunately we have to announce the cancellation of the SnowKite WorldCup Resia.

Ice conditions have considerably worsened over the last few days. There are several overlaps of the ice sheet from coast to coast of the lake, currently dividing Lago Di Resia into 3 zones. Some of these overlaps reach a height of 70cm.

Currently there is no snow on the entire surface of the lake, and due to the current temperatures the thickness of the ice is decreasing so that the safety of the competitors cannot be guaranteed anymore.

With the forecast of the upcoming week it is expected that the conditions rather worsen.

Therefore, the local organizing authority after consultation with IKA has taken the difficult decision to cancel the SnowKite World Cup stage Resia due to force majeure.

We are aware that this creates problems for the ones that have already registered to the event and have made travel arrangements. We apologise for the inconvenience, but the safety of the riders (and officials on the ice) always has to come first.

    Kind regards,
The Organizing Authority and the IKA
