Hello All ! I am Paul Sutchek , I am a life long woodworker starting when I was 16... I have moved up steadily thru the ranks and after all these years , I am still head sander and also the main floor sweeper ! but I am allowed to work on fine German machinery at times ... I am a small boat sailer , it's a Cal20 that came off the line in 1965 ... It is my skippers third cal and he know's how to make it go pretty well. I learned to sail under fire ... during racing , and have learned to love all the aspects of racing.. in the many hours of grinding though the courses,,, it can take quite a lot of effort to keep " the eye of the tiger " alive and kicking ,,, One of my first races, was a SFYC Midnight Moonlight Marathon , It blew pretty hard and green water was coming over my head , and at that time I didn't have any foulies either ,,, It was the first time I came home with hypothermia... but not the last . Now I am quite comfortable on the boat , and after only falling off once during a race , which we still won btw .... I find myself in a position of being head bottle opener and boat bitch ,,, its all most like work , but better ! Cheers to all !
