First Bay race with the boy as crew. He was very excited and a bit scared at the start, can't blame him, it was a pretty exciting experience with all the boats, the wind and the bump in the water. ...
Great shots, thanks for the pics... Where are you stationed, I might try to give you a better angle... :)
sadness sets in...
I thought flogging was fast? no?
Why is that the responsibility of the organizers? All the sailors have the same forecast information. If they each considered it unsafe for their vessel and their skillset they are empowered to...
I would assume, because this is a training run for people aiming at the SSS Transpac, and those conditions are not uncommon during that race. So even if you decide to turn back it gives you a taste...
Oh, and last year I forgot our tent, so the crew had to sleep in the back of the Jeep and I crawled in to JetStream... not ideal. Can't wait for next year.
Nice work Slack... thanks for sharing
I did drop part of my trailer coming down Altamont, recovered most of it. So trust me, there was some pain. Honestly, this race always seems to deliver an extra dose of pain but we always come...
No DeathSpear love? Is that because the Warriors won?

TI, Red Rock, Blackaller
decision made literally 2 mins before our start as the NEasterly wasn't quite reaching the Bay Bridge 5 mins before our start. Takes some cojones to buck 95% of the fleet...

You can say that. Ass is still recovering. But it was fun. Probably if we had gotten the sportboat division we would have had some shorter courses. But I’m beginning to like the downwind races...
Here is a little writeup of our experience, if you are so inclined:

Thanks for the catch, if you blink you miss it. But it is a good view. Day3 was wild, blew up the tack line fitting on the first race, and topped off at over 24 knots on the last run.
Send the CG back out, there is still a flipped canoe out there....
Thanks, it was fun to be out and have the great conditions. The party at BYC was quite enjoyable as well.
I saw some drone footage of the finishes, would love to know if it is posted somewhere
Good day for the Spear, doublehanded with solosailor. We don't look as cool as a Moore 24 in full plane, but hey, as long as we can go faster... :)
No major mistakes. Perhaps setting the A2 at...
