Thanks.
I have to be in Berkeley for several day next week doing a study course at KKMI. My exam is on Thursday. Is there any evening racing going on Thursday night?
Duh! April first.
Apparently the feds have seized the Sailing Anarchy website. Anyone ever seen this sort of thing before?
I don't see the entry list.
USCG should hurry up and just shut down all of the light houses. They are clearly being run by negligent personnel.
Missing out on both U 20's that came up for sale.
Still looking!
Well, each sail is going to work best within the ranges it is designed and built for. Headsails 1 thru 4 upwind in varying wind strengths. Jib tops, blast reachers and Zeros for close reaching....
No doubt your experiences in light air would prove the genny faster especially at closer angles. But the fact remains, a genoa is designed to maximize upwind performance. As the leads go forward...
......and that's the key. More HP, less crew. Gotta be a good thing right?
I don't see the sprit add on as being major. We built one for the Ross 40 that is literally a bolt on addition. Molded CFRP, with dual tack lines. Takes about five minutes to install. Really has...
Flasher, The weight limit really is critical. I'm not getting a larger vehicle and 2040 gives a nice margin of error, especially if Im travelling up and down I5 between Norcal and Socal. I was very...
Please excuse the long rambling post. Reading the Beau Geste article and Gavin Brady's comments about the S-h race confirmed my feelings for this type of racing. I just plain love it. My old boat...
So glad to see this did not result in more significant damage. I really enjoy the vids your crew puts out.
Noice.
You still keeping boats at Channel islands boat storage?
Ok, I keep hearing "A square line", but with no real definition of what a square line is. In the ideal world the first mark ought to be in line with the wind direction so that the line can be set...
Square to what? The top mark as Deathspear stated or the wind?
Looks like it's planing in that last vid.
3 ft more hoist and 1ft longer sprit is going to pump up the downwind HP quite a bit.
Question, Can the rig of the 92 handle masthead kites? Assuming...
Beaten by an Elliott 770?! I would say that is not good result. The 770 is a.....well... somewhat dated design compared to the Dart.
That was brilliant.
"It's like being on a trampoline, on a trampoline, whilst someone throws buckets of sea water at you".
Very cool. I am surprised that the 550 could not beat the Coresound 20 tho'.
You lot are unbelievable. It is Flyin Hawaiin! No G. No wonder they're pissed off at the couch houseboat builders!
Interesting.
Can the boat be beach launched? If I understand the EC rules correctly one of the requirements is to be able to beach launch at the start.
Certified PHRF certs? That sounds like a great idea that could gain traction. Was there any discussion on protocol for weighing boats and by whom. I.E. would single lift scales be used, scale pads...
Err, what? What's the diff between the Yankee cup Div and the sport boat Div.
