There are only two paints I ever recommend- Pettit Trinidad (hard) and Interlux Micron 66 (ablative.) Anything else runs a distant second at best, IMHO.
But full disclosure- since I posted this...
I am often asked for my opinion of Pettit Black Widow anti fouling paint. Hadn't had much experience with it until this spring/summer. Based on what I found yesterday, I can't say I'd recommend it.

If you are a boat owner in need of a dive service or a hull cleaner looking for new clients, I have created a Facebook group designed to put the two of you together. A bulletin board where boaters...

There is nothing visible below the waterline that indicates this is a boat! :D

Jerry didn't believe me when I told him he had an electrical problem aboard. The prop eventually fell off. Don't be like Jerry.

The yard is empty. Otherwise, not much has changed visually.

Updated timeline: Yard closes at year end, wholesale moves to Bay Ship in March.
Doer leaves 10/1/17. Svendsen's Boatworks leaves 11/1/17. All the marine business "anchors" are gone. Exactly what developer Bill Poland wanted. Now the argument can't be made that the complex...
The word on the docks is that the boatyard will close November 1st. Employees will move to other Bay Ship facilities. Retail and wholesale operations apparently unaffected at this time.
I have one client using it. Really too soon to make a definitive judgement but so far, so good. It wouldn't have to do much to be better than Baltoplate or VC17 though.

This just in- Former Alameda Marina harbormaster Brock DeLappe has landed on his feet and will be taking over the reins at the Oakland Marinas beginning next month.
Looks like some subsidence of the earth under the asphalt in front of 400-dock (IYC is above the 300-dock.) Couple of low spots covered with steel plates. Bulkhead appears intact.
My buddy has his office above the 200-dock at Alameda Marina. He just went and looked. Says the bulkhead seems fine at the IYC.
I'll be there in the a.m. and will report.
As a matter of fact, it is. We're diving the boat every other day jiggy
That is one clean bottom! jiggy
The visibility in the water hasn't been this bad in easily 10 or 15 years.
