The municipal marina does have issues with depth at the entrances -

Neck and neck after 3 plus hours, Rocket 88 and Alan O'Driscoll Beowulf enter Mare Island Strait ....
In the end, the blade forward proved to killer as Ian Klitza's Rocket 88 finishes at 3:27:56 & notches another "1st 2 Finish" in their belt.
Yet corrects behind Beowulfs 3:28:35 finish time...

A view of the Vallejo Race from the Point Pinole pier trails. There were lightish winds, the flood turned to an ebb tide. The first fleets and lead boats chased the last of the flood and they were a mile off the pier in the channel. The wind patches alternately favored the shore and channel.
