Feel free to ask, don't guarantee to know everything, but after 20 years, I might have a learn't a little bit.

Why is 5200 still available for sale? Ghastly stuff and almost always misused, to the great dismay of the next owner.
The difference is 5200 sticks to everything especially people using it.
Silicone pretends to stick to what you put it on then scurries away when you're not looking.
They're both evil.
I mentioned this bit of (not to be insulting in this case) "conventional wisdom" to a fellow who seemed to know quite a bit more than I and he poo-pooed the idea that 5200 is bad stuff. According to him, a hot putty knife will cut through it and that's all it takes.
I haven't tried this out myself, so fire away.
