    Mavericks Primo Day

The surf was large and clean, as long period swell sent a flock of 50 surfers out to Mavericks, near Pillar Point
in Halfmoon Bay Today. With the 1st non stormy day in what feel like a very long time conditions were excellent.

Mavericks Pioneer Jeff Clark had a two session day, with a break in the middle after
breaking his SUP in 3 places after taking a good pounding in the impact zone!

Sets were consistent and frequent, and today would have probably have made for a great contest
day. Unclear why it was not called in advance.

The beauty of shooting on a non contest day is the lack of crowds on the water and around the harbor.
There was a big crowd at the take off spot, but no conflicts were seen or heard.

There were numerous occasions when a sudden impulse of prudence overrode the desire to drop in!

Flying a drone from Jet ski is apparently the new standard for aerial photography

When you take a few monsters on the head, the vest inflates and the Mavs safety crew rushes in and
brings you back to the sidelines. Your board, however, has been sent to the boneyard.
