Hopefully they get decant wind in the short window they have allotted themselves for the actual race, but you never know.

Uncle Larrys Flying Circus Comes To Town

After months of anticipation and recent weeks of media bombardment, the Foiling 50's 2019 World Tour finally
started getting underway. The USA Team was 1st to splash and 1st to practice. After a 2.5 hour delay,
the boat finally was released from its Estuary mooring and it was time to get thing rolling.

If you have not yet figured out where the secret homebase is for this event, it's west of the Park Street Bridge and east of Alameda Marina.
Clear visible from the fishing pier just off the cement plant by the Outboard Motor Shop on the Oakland side. Don't think you can just waltz
in to the base from Clement Street, security detail will keep you at arms length unless you are invited.

These marvels of modern technology can be fickle and the USA team had to cool their jets a couple times as the hydraulics and electronics were not quite dialed
in, even after they had descended the temp ramp to the temp dock to get the dingy ride to the boat, only to return back to the team tent.

As the week progresses, additional teams will join the festivities, working through the rust and complex technical details of each boat until
they are all ready to assemble fro practice races at months end. Monday trial run had 8, count them 8 escort boats in a parade, rushing down the
channel, and the wake was, impressive. One might expect they have already heard some backlash from boat owners and flat water enthusiasts
    up and down the harbor.

Once outside the Estuary, it took a bit of time to get the jib hoisted and the USA team moving toward the windline that was a few hundred yards off South Beach Harbor.

The South Bay is no stranger to Foiling Cats, as the America's Cup teams practiced relentlessly in 2012 and 2013, in the AC72, that were not supposed
to foil, but the Kiwis had a plan to plane, and set the world aghast with their cat made monumental strides in that arena. The F-50's hum sounds much more refined
and lifts quicker and accelerates much quicker.

In winds just 10-15 knots, if that, Team Murica was smoking the South Bay, despite signs warning them against it...

Womens Kitefoiling Champion, Danela Moroz was tipped to the practice session and could not help herself but
to join in the action and see if she could compete. Her own personal observation indicated that she had the edge upwind,
could pretty much keep up on a beam reach but the F-50 explodes with speed offwind.

The F-50's will be hard to miss when on the water, but give the boats some distance if you wander out to spectate,
and just like last time, the land mass between the GGYC and Crissy Field will provide the easiest viewing. Look for them
    in early afternoon.

The UNaccredited Files Part 4 Chapter 6

A surprise gathering on the Cityfront for 5 teams exercising their right to rip!

All but Team USA were in attendance, which had a gathering planned for the Giants vs Dodgers
game at Oracle Park (previously known as pac bell or at&t).

Brilliant sun, flat flooding conditions and 20 knots maybe....
