Does missing the bus back to Richmond count?

Ha! Trailer axel freeze up on way to drop the damn thing off,
then leaving overnight bag and clothes back at the car!

Four of us in the cab of an old Chevy pickup towing a well known modified Wilderness 30 back very late on I-5, first fuel tank runs dry, driver reaches under seat to switch tanks, engine catches before we come to a complete stop, 3 minutes later engine stops again, second guy in front has to climb over driver and lean out of cab to remove gas cap so 2nd tank can vent, once again engine catches before we come to complete stop. Then there was some confusion at the 880/580 intersection and we end up towing boat through deep dark Oakland surface streets at 230am Sunday morning. I seem to remember we hit the rail road tracks a little fast and had some issue with one of the trailer bunks. We just dumped the thing in front of North Coast Yachts on Clement in Alameda and let them put everything back together. Was never in a hurry to get back home after that race and usually spent the night and dealt with it all the next day. Makes for a much more enjoyable experience all around.

Well there was the time we had just pulled into Pittsburgh for fuel, having just finished tying off the bow,
was walking back along the cabin top where the skipper had just placed his wallet and cell, hidden beneath the
hurriedly flaked main, and I accidentally kicked them both into the drink. Took a while to find the wallet,
the phone was never found. Whoopsie.

Rolling slowly through the night on highway 4 on way back a couple years ago,
a couple of nutts came flying by chasing each other, saw a couple gun flashes when
they got about 1/4 mile ahead.

    - bottom encounters
    - getting pulled over by the Sheriff (on the water) as we are leading the race

Its good thing sailors have short memories or we would stop racing....
