I am often asked for my opinion of Pettit Black Widow anti fouling paint. Hadn't had much experience with it until this spring/summer. Based on what I found yesterday, I can't say I'd recommend it.

There are only two paints I ever recommend- Pettit Trinidad (hard) and Interlux Micron 66 (ablative.) Anything else runs a distant second at best, IMHO.
But full disclosure- since I posted this video, several other clients have chimed in to let me know that they also use Black Widow. And we haven't had any problems with those boats. Certainly not like this.

Funny you should ask. Two weeks ago I dived a Hallberg Rassy 42 with a four-month-old Cukote bottom. What should have been a quick, easy wipe was an abrasive scrub-fest that took twice long as it should have. The owner happened to be there and I didn't spare the horses when I told him what ineffective crap that paint is. As are all the Sea Hawk products that I have had the misfortune to clean.
