2.4 mR World Championship - Day 3

Tricky day for the Race Committee of the 2.4 World Championship in Genoa. 2 races disputed today in rather variable conditions, still rough sea, and very shifting wind.
R1 with about 14 knots of wind and choppy sea - less than yesterday - confirmed the excellent preparation of northern European athletes with the leading trio made up of English, Finnish and Swedish sailors. For the Italians, a brilliant day for Antonio Squizzato who today places 4th and 6th in today's races.

At 3 pm, the race committee brought the boats out again for the fifth race, with a steady 10 kts of wind. The final ranking at the end of the third day sees these first 3:
1 - Megan Pascoe - GBR - (3,2) - 9 points
2 - Marko Dahlberg - FIN - (1,7) - 13 points
3 - Fia Fjelddahl - SWE - (5,3) - 31 points

Waves, wind and very challenging conditions for the second day of the 2.4 World Championships. The sun has chased away the yesterday's rain with a gusty wind around 15 knots and rough sea, the championship races have started.

3-day trials, marked by numerous retreats – about twenty boats returned early - and domination by the British Megan Pascoe, who in a state of grace guessed 3 perfect regattas (1,1,2). Behind her the Finn Marko Dahlberg (2,2,1) and the Swedish Fia Fjelldahl (9,5,9).
Very busy day for the small boat, more at ease in flat water rather than with the steep waves of today.
Tonight the 2.4 circus will be visiting the Aquarium of Genoa and tomorrow in the water for the fourth race at 10:55.
