What do you get when you take 3 crews from Bahama, 3 crews from Switzerland, and one crew each from Germany,
Great Britain and Norway, put them in 5.5 Metres on Lake Garda, add some good breeze and a talented photographer?

You get the 2021 Alpen Cup, currently being held at the Circolo Vela Torbole!

Following an eventful day on Lake Garda, John B (BAH 22, Gavin McKinney, Lars Horn Johannessen, Mathias Dahlman) lead the 5.5 Metre Alpen Cup at Circolo Vela Torbole with a second place and a race win. Momo (SUI 229, Dieter Schoen, Fuitjof Kleen, Thomas Auracher) won the first race and then picked up a UFD.

Marie-Françoise XXII (SUI 232, Jürg Menzi, Jürgen Eiermann, Christof Wilke) is second while the new Quigley/Heritage boat, Girls on Film (GBR 41, Peter Morton, Andrew Palfrey, Ben Cornish) is third. Sailed in quite blustery and damp conditions, many of the crews were admittedly rusty in these conditions, with a few gear and navigation problems along the way. The fleet was sent ashore after the second race with even bigger winds coming up the lake.
