2021 Master Mariners, A Majestic Return Of Normalcy

The 2021Master Mariners Regatta made a glorious return over the Memorial Day Weekend.
Following on the heels of the Spinnaker Cup start along the Marina Green and Crissy Field area, providing an awesome back drop for spectators,
beach goers, passerby's and vintage boat enthusiasts.

40 vessels from a gone by era, ranging from the 18.5 Bear Boat to the recently splashed 100', old school constructed brigantine Mathew Turner
plying the chilly and breezy SF Bay once again, after a 1 year recess due to pandemic restrictions. Broken into 12 divisions and 5 courses that ranged
from 12.80 nm to 17 nm and starts every 5 minutes from Noon til 12:45 making keeping track of who is leading who and what class a confounding challenge, even for race
    officials.

Yet this is a fun regatta and more of a casual get together and parade than a testosterone laden competition, with a joyous reception and party following
at the host Yacht Club, Encinal located on the Estuary afterwards.

Wind in the low 20's with stronger gusts on parts of the course, especially near the barely visible Blackaller Bouy combined with a 5.5 foot tide swing making a
challenging 3 plus knot flood kept crews on their toes and rigs creaking and groaning with smile after smile along the way!

Please enjoy some of the sights from the day:
